I’m Roxanne, and I have been arranging flowers for over 15 years; since I was just 14 years old. I first started gaining an interest in floristry when my father opened a florist in Wisbech town centre. I would go straight to the shop after school and on weekends to learn more about making bouquets and this interest only strengthened over time.
Being from a hugely creative family, I have been encouraged to develop this natural skill. After studying art at A level, I realised I could combine my eye for colours and textures with my passion for floristry and create beautiful things.
In 2009 I started Flowers by Roxanne; a freelance business trading online. After 3 years I took the decision to streamline this to concentrate on weddings; as I enjoyed this the most and felt it was the area I could be most creative. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength as I have joined forces with other amazing wedding suppliers and gained experienced decorating beautiful venues in Cambridgeshire, Essex and London.
In 2013 I was awarded Best Wedding Florist for the East of England, in the Wedding Industry Awards. Unlike some awards affiliations; judging is made not only by industry professionals and experts, but from entrants’ own clients. I have my lovely brides to thank to helping me to win this prestigious prize. I have since been shortlisted for this award twice more.
